Earthdance Melbourne, now in it’s 11th year, is a day to celebrate peace through dance.  It is part of the Global Earthdance Network, which has events running all over the world in hundreds of different locations simultaneously.  The parties all link together through a prayer for peace, and also through podcasts from all over the globe.

All Earthdance events agree to give at least half of their profits to charities of their choice.  Melbourne Earthdance is completely not for profit, and has always been run on a volunteer basis.  Over it’s time it has managed to raise over 80,000 dollars for charities.

The day features a range of different styles of music, from dub, to positive hip-hop, to funky progressive electronica.  The music is chosen to work in a family environment and is complemented by a range of activities and spaces such as workshops, performers, circus, healing, kids space, markets, food and much more.

Earthdance Melbourne is community run and always appreciates help through volunteers, donations or just spreading the word and having a great time on the day.
