Earthdance Melbourne 2009
— Outdoor peace festival—
Now in it’s 11th year, Earthdance Melbourne once again offers it’s section of an incredible global peace festival. Having taken on feedback from our punters on what Earthdance means to them, its is clear that Earthdance Melbourne belongs outdoors; in the sun and on grass! This year we have taken that on board and found an amazing large grassy venue only 10 kilometers from the city!

This year’s Melbourne Earthdance event asks you to “DIY Peace. Think Global. Dance Local.” In today’s society, thats a refreshing change! It’s making a home-coming to its urban roots, and it’s one for those who want to remember the old Dock parties.
This year’s event happens on Sunday 14th September and will feature at the Docklands with the intriguing theme of “Inside-Out”. The Earthdance crew have said to expect nothing less than state of the art sound, lighting, performers and visual arts. There’ll also be workshops and family activities – all in the name of sustainable living!
Funktion One join the Earthdance crew to present a solo stage covering hip hop, trip hop, downtemp, dubstep, funk, world music, and for old times sakes, techno. Names include Dom Hogan, DJ Cecille, Mo Ichi, Dexter, Dave Pham, Diafrix and much more. Check out the whatson listing for more info/
Also don’t forget that your Earthdance Melbourne ticket helps support various charities both here and abroad including The Sustainable Living Foundation (SLF) Melbourne and Red GUM Forest Preservation (www.saveredgum.org).
This is an all ages event and is reasonably priced at $15 (presale) for a whole day of fun with real meaning. Plus if you bring the kids, they get in free with an adult!
